My 5-year-old 55lb black lab, Artemis, is experiencing vomiting, diarrhea, and possibly in heat. She left a small puddle of watery blood on the patio. An on-call vet suggested colitis and to administer Pepto-Bismol tablets. Is Nauzene comparable, and how much should I give? She hasn't eaten anything unusual, but she vomited once at my parents' house and twice since we got home. Is there anything else I should know or do?

We are in South Texas and have big red wasps that hang out in the grass. Our medium-sized terrier dog bites at these wasps and gets stung. He is now very lethargic, won't eat or drink, and is losing weight rapidly. We thought this would pass but it hasn't. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

My dog ate some rat poison (racumin) and vomited up the poison packet, but some of the paste was still in it. How much danger is my dog in, and what should I do given that we live 100km from the nearest vet?

My white German Shepherd is about 19 months old. He has been tested at the vet and has been on a monthly heartworm pill, with clean test results. He runs a lot around the house and me, but is fine indoors, laying down and chilling. He is very thin but eats well. I thought he was thin due to running so much. He has not been to the vet in a year but was hyper and running then. We recently got a female for him, she eats the same and runs the same yard but is a lot thicker. He acts great, but I worry that something might be wrong and we're not doing anything about it.
