My 5-year-old Golden Retriever, Sam, started having diarrhea last Thursday, followed by vomiting on Saturday. He was taken to the emergency vet, who sent us home with instructions to administer fluids. He has been panting, lethargic, and scared to go outside, especially near the pool. The vomiting has stopped, but he continues to have diarrhea and cannot control it. He has been eating only when food is placed in front of him. He was given Imodium, Prilosec, and metoclopramide, but the diarrhea persists. He has been on a bland diet of boiled meat and rice, and we tried FortiFlora, but it didn't help. What could be causing his symptoms, and what further steps should we take?

My dog, Ford, a 7-year-old, has been experiencing brown discharge from the penis, pain in the hind legs, difficulty with bowel movements, and weight loss over the past 3 weeks. My 12-year-old, 6 lb Yorkie named Lucy has been coughing hard and hacking for 2 days, off and on, with no trouble breathing but worse at night. Her gums are not very pink, and she generally doesn't move around much. What could be causing this cough, and can she take any cough medication until I can take her to the vet on Monday?
