My 7.5-8 week pregnant Labrador is breathing rapidly (80-85 breaths per minute) and has been uncomfortable for the last day or two. She is still eating and sleeping well but has been drinking a lot of water. Could this be early labor or something else?

Thomas R. answered
The rapid breathing could be due to early uterine contractions, which are common in the first stages...

My dog woke up unable to move her head to the right, and her head is tilted to the left. She shifts her whole body to look at us but maintains the tilt. She hasn't seen a vet in about a year and is not on any medication. Her name is Evee, and she is a rescue dog estimated to be 7-9 years old. She sleeps on the same bed as me, usually near my feet or next to my head. What could be the issue, and what should I do?

My dog has been diagnosed with cancer under a skin tumor on his left shoulder. He has been asymptomatic for two months but is now significantly limping and occasionally crying. He is normally very stoic, so this indicates he is in significant pain. What dosage of Vicodin can we give him until we can get to the regular vet? He weighs 40 lbs and is a mixed breed. We know he will be put down soon but want to minimize his suffering for a few days until then.

My dog, Crave, a 2-year-old border collie weighing about 50lbs, drank 2 sips of water from a toilet containing Scrubbing Bubbles cleaner about 20 minutes ago. The dog has shown no signs of vomiting and seems fine. What should I do?

Our 6-month-old Shepherd mix puppy, Spooky, got tangled in his lead for about 4 hours. When we freed him, his leg was bound and swollen, and he's been limping on it. He's not crying but avoids putting weight on it and moves it away when touched. He's still eating and drinking normally. What should we do?

My 7-month-old Rottweiler mix puppy, Rocco, has been experiencing liquid, watery diarrhea since about 9pm and is now vomiting as well. He threw up twice within 10 minutes. I don't think he ate anything unusual today, and he didn't spend any time outside alone. He's also shaking and not really sleeping. Should I put him in the kennel for sleep or let him stay in bed with us?
