My 7-year-old Bichon Havanese has a bloated stomach that feels tight like a balloon, and I'm unsure if he's pooping. My husband noticed what looked like black tar the last time he saw it. The dog acts normal except for growling more than usual when picked up. How long has this been going on, and is he eating and drinking normally?

Our golden retriever has huge ear polyps bilaterally. Our local vet recommended complete ablation, but we prefer a laser procedure to preserve any hearing. She has worsened with facial swelling, started on Cephalexin, Zeniquin, and Prednisone, but swelling increased. She is eating and drinking better but moving slowly, keeping her head low, and twitching rhythmically. We suspect an insect bite or allergic reaction to new ear cleaning pads. Should we consider Benadryl for possible allergic reaction and guidance on ear issue (ablation vs. laser treatment)?

My mini schnauzer, Abbie, has been experiencing seizures since she was 21 months old. She was diagnosed with epilepsy and has been on phenobarbital and, more recently, potassium bromide. Despite the medication adjustments, she continues to have seizures and has developed significant muscle weakness and coordination issues. I am concerned about the side effects of the medications and whether she is receiving the correct dosage. What should I do about her seizures versus her physical problems?
