My 7-year-old Chihuahua and Corgi mix, Willy, has been having bright red blood in his urine intermittently for a couple of months. The amount varies and shows up after he has already emptied himself. He is otherwise acting fine and doesn't seem to be in pain. He has been through 2 courses of antibiotics which seemed to work for a week or so each time. I have taken him to Banfield and then a smaller, non-corporate local vet practice. Both practices have suggested about $1,000 in tests. What might be causing the blood and what test makes the most sense?

My dog was diagnosed with Cushing's syndrome 15 months ago, but the symptoms went away and he was healthy. Now, the symptoms have returned, and we are testing again. Is it likely that Cushing's can come and go like this?

My dog, a 55 lb Irish wolfhound mix, incurred an injury yesterday while running after a ball. He winced and returned whimpering without the ball. Since then, he has been in pain, resting more comfortably today but still whimpering when pressed around the shoulder area. He occasionally bows his head and arches his back weirdly, paces around the house panting, and has difficulty turning to the left. He is currently on Tramadol for pain. What could be the issue and what should I do?

My 1.5-year-old Beagle mix started developing diarrhea around 10AM on Sunday, which has continued with frequent episodes, including accidents in the house. He has been eating boiled chicken and rice since yesterday evening, but the diarrhea persists, though it has become slightly thicker and more mucusy. He has a great appetite, drinks water normally, and is in good spirits but a bit sleepy. He recently ingested a chicken bone, which later appeared in his stool. I'm wondering what else I can do for him at home, such as using anti-diarrheal medication, or if a trip to the vet is necessary.
