My 7-year-old Shih Tzu, Charlotte, injured her toenail today. She had a minor limp, and after trimming the snagged nail, there was a small amount of blood. Now, there's a small purple bruise on the nail bed and a small chip in the toenail. Her paw doesn't feel swollen or broken, but her toenail hurts her. What should I do?

My dog, Theo, has been limping on his left hind leg for about 6 weeks. He is fine during walks but shows discomfort at other times. I suspect it might be related to his hip or rotator.
