My 9-year-old German Shepherd, Bella, suddenly became lethargic and then started losing control of her back legs. She still eats but has to be given canned food. She was initially thought to have a slipped disc or nerve damage, but no tests were done. She was given antibiotics for a presumed UTI, and later a steroid shot, but her condition fluctuates. She sometimes has labored breathing and her foot is turning under when walking. What could be causing her symptoms and what tests should be recommended?
