My 8-year-old yellow lab, who was hit by a car 3.5 years ago and has since had arthritic degenerative issues, is on day 4 of prednisone for his neck and is having trouble walking with his front paws. I have followed my vet's instructions to taper down to 1 pill (20 mg) a day, but he can't walk now. My vet is on vacation until Monday. What should I do?

If the prednisone is not providing relief, consider weaning off it and switching to other medication...
