My 9-year-old beagle, Emmy, pulled a muscle in her rear right leg after jumping off a new, high bed. She is experiencing muscle spasms and discomfort, but her leg movement seems normal. She is overweight and has an appointment with her vet in February. What can I do to help her in the meantime?

Hello, one of my dogs, Iris, a 15-pound, 7-year-old dog, just ate an IKEA tea light candle, metal and all. It happened about 40 minutes ago, and she has not vomited since. She just went out and pooped normally. Is there anything else the vet should know about Iris?

Our 10-year-old Border Terrier, Merrii, occasionally gasps for air as though breathing through the mouth not the nose. There is no cough, and the gasping is spasmodic. Merrii is 6.7 kg, not overweight, and walks 3 to 8 miles a day. What could be causing this and what should we do?
