My mixed breed dog is rapidly breathing and has a runny nose. She is 6 years old and has Lyme disease, for which she is currently on antibiotics. What could be causing her rapid breathing, and what should I check or do?

My dog, Gus, a 7-year-old poodle mix weighing about 30 pounds, started limping on his front left paw about half an hour ago. There is no apparent swelling or wounds, and he doesn't want to put weight on it. What could be causing this and what should I do?
