My beagle presented with Cushing's-like symptoms but didn't conclusively test for Cushing's. Our vet put her on 20mg of trilostane daily for 20lbs of body weight. She became extremely lethargic, weak, and hypothermic after a week on the medication. We took her to the vet where she died, presenting with an Addisonian crisis. An autopsy revealed hyperadrenocorticism and an Addisonian crisis. Should her cortisol levels have been tested sooner, especially since she didn't present with classic Cushing's symptoms?
