My Carolina Dog is six years old and generally very fit and energetic. Today she is moving slow and her sides, just in front of her back hips, are very tender and sore to the slightest touch. She is not going up and down the stairs as usual, can get up from the floor but waits longer to do so, and is not as quick to join me as she usually is. This has not happened before, there is no vomiting, diarrhea, coughing, or pre-existing medical conditions, and she is not on any medications. Her gums look normal, but taking a rectal temperature is not possible. She weighs 70 lbs.

My dog, Lucy, got some fur in her eyes at the pet groomers and has been pawing at her eyes and they seem a little watery since then. What can I do to help her without having to go to the vet right away?

My 8-year-old mini Aussie has been experiencing abdominal discomfort since last night. She is not vomiting or having diarrhea, but her appetite is gone, and she seems to be trying to relieve cramps by walking around and stretching. She also picked at grass outside, which she normally does before vomiting, but this time she only had slight foaming. The only unusual thing she ate was some turkey deli meat. She weighs around 25lbs and is up-to-date on her vaccines. What could be causing her discomfort, and what should I do?
