It is 3am and my 15-year-old Dachshund named Spencer has diarrhea. What can I do now?

My dog has a white patch of fur on her rear/back thigh area that is sunken in and soft. The spot is indented and looks different from the surrounding skin. The dog is not in pain, is eating normally, and has no issues with peeing or pooping. She was recently fixed about 5 weeks ago. What could be the cause of this and what should I do?
