My chihuahua was diagnosed with ITP and has been on prednisone and Atopica. Her platelets are now well above normal, and we are tapering off the prednisone. However, she has had two pancreatitis episodes in the last two weeks due to the prednisone, and now she has a bleeding ulcer. How quickly can prednisone be tapered/reduced safely to get her off it as soon as possible?

I let my 6-year-old Daschund out into the backyard and noticed him eating a piece of a chicken leg bone. I managed to pull out a 2-3 inch piece, but I'm unsure how much he ate before I intervened. It's been roughly 30 minutes, and he has eaten his dinner, drank, and shows no symptoms. What should I do, and how is it treated if he develops symptoms such as abdominal pain or diarrhea?
