My dog, a French bulldog with brachycephalic syndrome, recently had a high fever of 107 and was hospitalized for aspiration pneumonia. He was given sedatives and trazadone, and now seems disoriented. I have several questions: 1. Will the effects of the high fever and medication last long? 2. Should he undergo surgery for his upper airway issues, and if so, will he be monitored for 24 hours post-surgery? 3. Can his umbilical hernia and neutering be done during the same anesthesia session as the airway surgery, or is it too much for him? 4. His esophagus and stomach flap doesn't work properly, causing him to throw up if he eats or drinks too much or gets too excited. Is surgery necessary for this, or is there a medication that can help?
