My 14-year-old Bichon mix dog has a level 4 heart murmur and an occasional hacking cough. My vet started him on Vetmedin, Enalapril Maleate, and Lasix. After 5 days on these meds, he is clingy, lethargic, and has an irregular heartbeat. He was not experiencing these issues before starting the meds and was quite energetic. Hello! My Chihuahua is 15 years old and has kidney disease. She is coughing when she exerts herself, which doesn't happen all the time. My veterinarian wants to do an X-ray. I thought X-rays were for bone mass and could not detect soft tissue problems. Please advise.
