My dog, Bear-dog, has been experiencing intermittent diarrhea and vomiting after being on Remedial for 2 months. The symptoms worsened with a prescribed Hill's prescription diet, and now his poop is grey and slimy. I've tried fasting and a rice and chicken diet, which improved the diarrhea but it became intermittent. The vet prescribed Metronidazole, but I'm hesitant to give it. Should I try natural remedies like Metamucil first, or proceed with the antibiotic? Is an X-ray necessary, and is Metronidazole safe for my dog?
