My dog, Boone, a 7-year-old blue heeler mix, isn’t eating well but doesn’t have diarrhea. He still plays and shows no signs of pain. He has been on a grain-free diet for over a year and is sensitive to food changes. What could be causing his decreased appetite, and what steps should I take to address this?

My dog is currently taking gabapentin, amitriptyline, meloxicam for pain, and thyrotab for low thyroid. She has been diagnosed with a UTI and was originally prescribed Clovamax, which made her vomit. I just picked up sulfamethoxazole-trimethoprim that the clinic recommended instead, but I'm concerned about a significant interaction between this and her amitriptyline, especially since she is 19 with a heart murmur and MVDD. Should I be worried about this interaction, and is there anything I should watch for with this new antibiotic?
