My dog, Buddy, who is 3 years old, has a squishy, painful lump between his toes. His shelter papers mention a previous issue with an abscess or tumor, which had swelling that went down without draining. What could this lump be and what should I do?

My 12-year-old American bulldog was treated for swelling in her rear lower joint 12 days ago. She finished her Baytril on Thursday and has three more days of prednisone QOD. She now has a large pocket of fluid on her right front upper joint with the same symptoms: pain, heat to the area, and a fever of 103.4. I'm using cool compresses. This time, the swelling occurred over a 30-minute span. Could it be gout?

My elderly Husky has been diagnosed with arthritis and is on medication. He has lost control of his bowels and bladder, has difficulty getting up but can still walk, and is excited to see me.
