My dog, Butters, has a persistent lump on his tail that has a lesion and doesn't stay healed. It's been there for several months and has been licked by another dog. My vet suggested amputating the tail above the lump for biopsy, but I'm unsure if this is the right course of action. Should I consider another opinion or proceed with the amputation?
