My dog, Coco, a 9-year-old Shih-Tzu, has lost significant weight and now has joint problems after recovering from a GI tract infection. She also had a groin/lumbar injury before the infection, which caused her to stop eating. Now, she is eating healthy again, has no infection, and poops and urinates fine, but she has joint problems with walking and seems disoriented, walking in circles. Why did this happen, and what should I do?

I have a 12-year-old female Schnoodle who is constantly chewing her back left paw to the point where she can't walk with her paw down. She has been doing this for about a week.
