My dog, Cooper, is breathing strangely out of his nose, sounding like dry heaving, with episodes every 20 minutes. He recently exercised heavily and had heavy panting for about 5-10 minutes, followed by drinking water. What could be causing this and what can I do about it?

My 6-month-old Goldendoodle, Stetson, ate a large amount of cat food this morning, resulting in a bloated stomach, diarrhea, excessive panting, and difficulty sleeping. He has not vomited since, but has been very gassy and thirsty. What could be causing this and what should I do to help him?

My 10 1/2 year old shepherd boxer has trouble getting up after lying down for an hour or more, with weak back legs that gradually improve after a few minutes. He can run and walk fine once warmed up, but hesitates to get up from lying down positions. He has trembling in his back legs after running, which has worsened over the last couple of months. He had blood work done recently, which showed excellent condition with no abnormalities. Does this sound like arthritis or something more serious like degenerative myelopathy or intervertebral disk disease (IVDD)?

At 2:15 our golden retriever, Rosebud, who weighs around 70 lbs, ate 1 to 3 grapes. The emergency clinic is not open until 6 pm. Is there anything we can do now?

I have two dogs, Lexi (7 years old) and Jasper (4 years old), who continue to scratch and lick after being treated with Frontline Plus for fleas approximately 2.5 weeks ago and having the yard professionally treated for fleas over a week ago. The itchy spots seem mostly on top of their backs at the base of the tail, and I occasionally see fleas even though they have been treated. What could be causing this and what should I do?

A dog went through a doggie door and into the basement, where it found and chewed on a Tom’s mice poison bar. The dog is a 10-year-old lab weighing about 50 to 60 lbs. What should be done, and what signs should be watched for if the poison affects the dog?
