My older male dog, Hendricks, age 14, was given Bethanechol for incontinence. I read that this drug increases urination, but how does that help with incontinence? He has been experiencing leakage when standing to eat and urinating when sleeping. We tried Proin, but it made his condition worse. What could be causing his incontinence, and what further steps should be taken to address it?

My dog ate 12 oz of 60% cocoa chocolate chips 13-14 hours ago. She has shown symptoms of restlessness, drunken gait, increased thirst, and incontinence, but no vomiting or diarrhea. She is 38 lbs and her heart rate is mostly around 100-115 beats per minute. Is it safe to think this is the worst of it, or is it likely she will continue to decline? Should I take her to the vet for treatment with activated charcoal and IV fluids?
