I have a 1 1/2 year old lab/pit mix neutered male named Belthazar who has extreme extended periods of panting after exercise. It takes about an hour for him to settle down, during which he lies on his side and hyperventilates for 45-60 minutes. He is a rescue with poor stamina since I adopted him in September. He is gluten intolerant and is fed only Farmer's Dog. What could be causing this and what should I do?
