My yorkie mix has red flaky/crusty sores all over his belly, some large and some smaller. I've taken him to the vet and they gave me a solution to spray, which didn't help. The sores on his back have somewhat gone away, but those on his belly and under his pits on his front and back legs haven't. He's very allergic to fleas and has always had huge skin sensitivity. I've been treating it with a solution for wounds and hot spot solution. The areas aren't bald, and he licks them but doesn't chew on them. He sleeps through the night just fine without licking them etc. What could be causing this and what are the next steps to treat it?
