My dog got sick early this morning. I attributed it to eating a rawhide, but this evening, his left side of the snout and under his snout are swollen. Is this something that could wait until the morning for help, or do we need to take him to an emergency care facility?

Our 13-year-old spayed indoor cat has been diagnosed with intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) after a violent fight with another cat, which caused sudden lameness. She is currently on Metacam for pain management. Can IVDD appear this suddenly, and should I request X-rays of the legs to rule out a fracture?

I missed my dog's insulin shot this morning and he had a seizure before his evening injection. He is better now but do I need to give him his insulin injection now after the seizure or wait until his morning dose?

My dog keeps vomiting dry heaves, like he's trying to clear something out of his throat. Could there be an obstruction? When he barks or I pull on his collar, he starts writhing again. Now he just starts writhing without barking or pressure on his collar.

My 11-year-old dog has an abdominal growth filling 90% of her abdominal cavity, and she is not a surgical candidate. We've been maintaining frequent small feedings to keep her blood sugar high, and she hasn't had any subsequent seizures. What should I expect, and what should I do if she has another seizure? How do I monitor her condition without causing her unnecessary suffering or acting prematurely?
