Hello, my small Chihuahua put a non-anticoagulant mouse poison brick in her mouth. She did not appear to swallow or chew it before I was able to remove it. What should I do and is there any risk of poisoning?

Our 13 1/2 year old black lab, Kona, is having trouble moving her legs, breathing heavily and fast, and is salivating a lot. She was seen at the ER two nights ago where they did blood work and X-rays but found no issues. They suggested arthritis and prescribed Meloxicam, which isn't helping. Her front legs are now also affected, and she has been breathing fast for 48 hours. What should we do before taking her to her regular vet tomorrow?
