My dog, Gunner, age 11, is badly constipated. He has had small, hard bowel movements about 24 hours ago, and his stomach looks distended. He has cancer (lymphoma), has lost weight, and is on steroids. I have a suppository of Dalex at home but am hesitant to give it to him. Should I give him the suppository, or is there anything else I should do to help him tonight before taking him to the vet early tomorrow morning?
