My dog, a mixed breed part lab and possibly bassett, shepard, or border collie, has been on Interceptor for years but won't take Trifexis pills. I want to switch to Heartgard Plus but am worried about potential ivermectin allergies. My vet didn't want to test for allergies. Should I insist on the test before starting Heartgard Plus?

When I picked up my 6-year-old 30 lb. Sheltie after having his teeth cleaned, the vet told me that one of the levels of his liver was high. He suggested giving him two pills of Flagyl a day (250 mg./pill) for three weeks and two capsules of milk thistle (400 mg./capsule) a day. I have two questions: Isn't it unusual to take an antibiotic for that long? And second, isn't the daily dosage of 800 mg. of milk thistle much too high for his weight?

My 8-year-old Pug has been diagnosed with GME, inflammation in his mid to lower spine, and has Ataxia and fecal incontinence. He had an MRI under anesthesia and was put on medication. His mobility is worse and he is shaking non-stop since the MRI. Is this due to the anesthesia, and should I be concerned if it doesn't resolve within 48 hours?

I have a Boston terrier who is almost seven years old. My dog has been having muscle spasms in his neck, causing him to put his head down, stiffen his front legs, and arch his back slightly. I can't afford to take him to the vet. What can I do for him, and can I give him a low dosage of aspirin?
