My dog has an abscess in his throat, surgery was performed 2 days ago with a drain inserted, but the area still seems hard and may be filling back up. My dog is a less than 5 lbs Chihuahua, approximately 3/4 years old. There is drainage from the tube, and he is on long-acting antibiotics, daily amoxicillin, orbax, and carprofen for pain/inflammation. Is it okay to remove the cone if he is not fussing with the wound, and should I continue cleaning the area with hydrogen peroxide as recommended by my vet?

My 8-year-old Pit Bull, Troy, has been moving sluggishly, disinterested in food, play, or outdoors for the last couple of days. He has not eaten today, but he did poop and pee during a walk. His nose is wet and cool, and he had favored his right ear last week, which I treated and he seemed to respond. There is no history of vomiting.

I have a 13-year-old Borzoi named Cory who ate a suet ball and beets, resulting in red diarrhea. She has been experiencing diarrhea overnight and this morning, and has not been eating. She has been on pancreas medication for weight loss and seems thinner now. What could be causing this and what should I do?

My 8-month-old Havanese male chewed and ate a beef tendon this afternoon. He is lethargic, has an arched back, and vomited once. He has had some water but no other food. Should I take him to a vet tonight, or can I wait until my scheduled vet appointment tomorrow morning?

I gave my dog Benadryl for allergies and then gave him Xanax 0.5 mg when he reacted badly to fireworks. He is 20 pounds. Is it safe for him to take both medications together?

My dog, Bixby, a 3 1/2-year-old, got into a travel bag and chewed up various items including toothpaste, hydrocortisone cream, hair conditioner, acne medication, Q-Tips, and a floss container. He recently vomited white foam/spit but is acting normal. Should I be concerned, and what should I do?
