My dog has been having diarrhea with mucus and has been on a rice diet. The diarrhea started on December 31st, and there was one instance of diarrhea with mucus on January 2nd. The dog chewed a string from one of his toys and is acting normally. What should I do, and how long should I wait before visiting a vet?

My dog, Chispa, who is about to turn 4 years old, experiences severe anxiety during loud noises like fireworks or gunshots.
