I have a 160-pound Mastiff named Trigger who is usually very playful and outgoing, but since returning from a week-long stay at a dog sitter's during our vacation, he has been lethargic, not playing, and mostly sleeping. He is eating less than usual but has normal bowel movements and no vomiting. He has some scabs on his ear and had two ticks removed. Should I take him to the vet?

My niece's dog, Boudan, was given Metacam after having teeth cleaned. However, he experienced confusion, dilated pupils, and loss of mobility in his back legs a few hours after a dose. Could these symptoms be side effects of Metacam or anesthesia, or possibly related to tooth extraction with a potential infection? He is now slowly regaining mobility and is taking gabapentin.

I am dog sitting for my daughter and all three senior dogs have diarrhea. One had diarrhea all over the house yesterday and today another one did the same. I am trying to give them pumpkin and mashed banana. Can I give them a little Kaopectate? They are acting lethargic but they usually sleep most of the day. One dog, Angel, has a breathing disorder and weakness in her back legs, and the other, Tofu, has a disorder causing loss of appetite and vomiting bile. How do I treat their diarrhea?
