I took my 5-pound Shitzu Maltese to the emergency vet for back issues. She is in a lot of pain, and the vet prescribed 1/8 of a 50 mg tablet of Tramadol 2 times a day and Gabapentin 2 100 mg tablets per day. I am concerned that the dosage for Gabapentin might be too high. I only gave her about 5 mg of the tablet. Should I be giving her more or is this correct?

My 16-year-old ***** ***** terrier, Rocky, has lost significant weight over six months, especially around his rib cage to buttocks area. He no longer wants to eat dog food, has a shaky jaw, and difficulty swallowing. He has occasional coughing/sniffling with mucus from his nose, and his energy levels fluctuate with eating. He is not on heartworm preventative. What could be causing his weight loss and symptoms, and is there anything we can do to help him?

Our 14-year-old beagle mix, StitchMcGee, often eats grass when he has a tummy ache and then vomits it up. He also drinks a lot of water after vomiting, which causes more vomiting. Should we allow him to have small amounts of water, and what can we do to help settle his stomach?
