I have a 10-year-old, 10-pound overweight Chihuahua named Chloe who has been experiencing diarrhea with bright red blood for two days. She has had diarrhea several times over the weekend, with the last instance showing some blood. She ate chicken on Saturday but has not eaten since then. She was given white rice and chicken broth but refused to eat it. She is not active due to bad knees and is scheduled for dental cleaning and tooth removal in February. She has all her shots up to date and takes meloxidyl daily for her knee issues. She has not had diarrhea for at least three hours and is not actively bleeding. Should I be worried and does she need to go to the emergency vet, or can it wait until tomorrow?
