My dog, Miller, has had bloody stool today. He seems to be drinking normally, has a good appetite, and is urinating normally, but his stool is mucusy and contains blood. He is on a preventative heartworm medication and has been on a bland diet due to our other dog's illness. What could be causing this and what steps can I take to help him?

My German Shepherd, Ronin, ate a sock 13 days ago. He has a history of ingesting socks, with 90% passing through his bowels within 3-7 days and the other 10% being vomited up. He has had on-and-off diarrhea for the past week, which is normal for him when he eats a sock. Should I be concerned about the diarrhea even if it is normal for him? Will the sock pass with diarrhea or will it need to firm up to pass?
