My Australian Shepherd, Dixie, ate a pound of brownies about 5-8 hours ago. She weighs 55 pounds and has not vomited. What should I expect and is there any action I should take?

My dog, Hitler, has a pocket of fluid building up in the lob of his ear, but it does not appear to be in the canal. Possibly a bug bite of some sort. What can I do to release the fluid? I have been putting warm compresses on it. The dog has never been to a vet and I am concerned about finding a vet who will see him and how expensive the procedure might be.

My dog licked my finger that had a substance with xylitol in it. It wasn’t that much, but should I be concerned? The dog is a 75lb wired hair pointing griffon named Dublin, who will be 2 years old this month. She hasn't thrown up since this happened.
