My 16-year-old Jack Russell Terrier, Charlie, is losing weight despite eating and drinking. She has lost her hearing, sight, and smell, and seems to obsess over food. My 14-year-old dog, Diamond, was diagnosed with kidney failure. She has had little to eat or drink for a few days, and this morning she passed a large pool of blood. She is lethargic but moving around normally and taking water from a syringe. Is the bloody stool a side effect of her failing kidneys or a sign of internal bleeding? What steps should we take to manage her condition and keep her comfortable?
