My dog, Diamond, a 10-year-old weighing about 75 pounds, has been throwing up for the last few hours and is now lethargic, making whimpering sounds as if her stomach hurts. She threw up Pedialyte and activated charcoal as well. What could be causing this and what should I do?

I have a Bernese Mountain Dog named Holly, who is nearly 7 years old. She has developed large patches of dry, flaking skin on her stomach and chest, which leave behind very sore, red patches when the dry skin comes off. Her coat on her back and neck is in good condition, but the hair on the affected areas also comes away with the dry flakes. She is overweight but otherwise healthy. I have tried various creams, soaps, and sprays, including Hibiscrub soap, Ancura gel, Lyvlee Leucillin antiseptic skin care spray, medicated spray, and Savulon, but nothing seems to help. What could be causing this and what can I do to treat it?
