My dog, Sasha, is about 11 years old. She recently stopped eating her regular dry dog food and switched to soft food, which she now eats. However, her stool has become very runny and reddish orange, and she seems more tired and has lost weight. She also has trouble standing up and her legs wobble initially after laying down. Additionally, I've started giving her doggy aspirin and a multi-vitamin. What could be causing these issues and what should I do?

The changes in Sasha's stool consistency and color are likely due to the switch to canned food, part...

My 5-year-old Golden Retriever, Eustis, has not been eating for about 2 months. Initially, a vet thought the enlarged liver was the issue, but after treatment and a second opinion, no medical reason for his lack of appetite was found. He will only eat beef jerky, which we were advised not to give him due to its high sodium content. What should I do to help Eustis start eating again, and is it safe to give him jerky as a last resort?

I have a big, lovable German Shepherd named Silas who seems lonely since his friend, a female pit bull, left. Silas is affectionate, gentle, and good with other pets and children. I am 76 years old, recovering from illness, and live with my daughter, granddaughter, and her boyfriend. I am looking for a very small adult dog to be a companion for me and Silas. What do you think?

My 10-year-old neutered standard poodle, Sam, has a lump on his neck that recently popped open and bled. I've been treating it with Animax ointment on a clean non-stick pad and wrapping it loosely with an Ace bandage. Is this treatment okay? The lump has been growing for about 4 weeks, and I have a vet appointment scheduled for April 7th, but I'm concerned it might need to be seen sooner. What should I do in the meantime, and what would the care routine be if I took him to an emergency vet? Also, do cold or hot packs help, and how can I prevent the blood and medicine from getting on the furniture or rugs?

I have a 10-year-old Golden Doodle named Blue who is acting like he is in pain, won't eat, and seems more tired than usual. He has been moping around all day, eating grass but not vomiting, and won't eat or drink anything, not even his favorite treat. His belly doesn't seem distended, but he hasn't had a bowel movement today and isn't urinating much. He has a history of eating non-food items like socks and underwear. Should we take him to the emergency vet tonight or wait until morning for his regular vet?
