My dog, Sawyer, a 7-year-old golden retriever, has a greyish spot on the inside corner of his eye that has persisted despite treatment with antibiotic and steroid drops. The spot is accompanied by occasional brown or grey discharge and redness in the white area of the eye, which clears up with steroid drops but returns. What could this be, and what should I do?

My puppy, Pete, ate a small amount of onions (about 1/10th of an onion, or a few rings from the top of a cheeseburger). He weighs about 25lbs and is 4 months old. How concerned should I be about onion toxicity, and what should I do?

My friend’s dog, Beefcake, a two-year-old rescue with a history of severe heartworm treated with steroids, just started Nexgard and is now experiencing vomiting, diarrhea with blood and mucus. The dog also recently tried new rawhides. Should we stop the medication, and what should we do to help the dog?

My 11-year-old Shih Tzu, Chicken, hasn't been eating for almost a week. She had X-rays and an ultrasound, but nothing definitive was found. She was given an appetite stimulant and anti-nausea medication, which helped a bit. Today, she was found to be dehydrated and received water under the skin, Pepcid, and a steroid. She vomited a few times and is still lethargic and won't eat. How long does it take for the steroid to stimulate her appetite, and can she have more anti-nausea medication while on the steroid?
