My dog, Simba, is suddenly lethargic, not eating or drinking, and is protecting his left rear side of the body. He seems confused and won't leave his bed. He reels back and whimpers when touched. The local hospitals are at capacity and won't take him. What should I do?

Capone has had diarrhea for the past few days. Do you suggest the BRAT diet? Is there doggie Pepto? I made him rice, but added chicken and rice soup, which I think made it worse. He is fine in terms of playing and his nose is cold and wet, but he's had severe diarrhea. How can I help him?

My dog has bloody diarrhea that looks like raspberry jam. She started having runny poops two days ago, which turned into mostly liquid today. She has been lethargic, not drinking as much water as usual, and vomited clear liquid once. She has been eating her normal diet except for a little chicken broth added yesterday. Is this an emergency, and what should I do?
