Our 12-year-old mixed breed dog, Gracie, has been unsettled and frequently licking her female parts. We thought it might be allergies and have given her Benadryl, which helps her rest but the problem persists. This morning, my wife noticed her parts looked protruding/inflamed. Gracie is an old dog with signs of dementia and possibly Cushings Disease. She is on Phenobarbital for seizures, Gabapentin, Moxicam, and regular CBD. If her eyes are very red and she scratches excessively, we give her Benadryl. What could be causing this irritation, and what should we do?
