My dog, who is almost 14 years old, has had 4 seizures this weekend, each lasting up to 20 seconds. The seizures occur when she wakes up, causing stiffness and a struggle against it, followed by a few minutes of recovery. She shows no other symptoms and has not been exposed to any known poisons. Her appetite and bathroom habits are normal. I am concerned about the possibility of a brain tumor or encephalitis. Is she likely in pain, and how fast do brain tumors typically grow in dogs? Are there medications to slow their progression or manage pain?
