My dog, who is almost 14 years old, has had 4 seizures this weekend, each lasting up to 20 seconds. The seizures occur when she wakes up, causing stiffness and a struggle against it, followed by a few minutes of recovery. She shows no other symptoms and has not been exposed to any known poisons. Her appetite and bathroom habits are normal. I am concerned about the possibility of a brain tumor or encephalitis. Is she likely in pain, and how fast do brain tumors typically grow in dogs? Are there medications to slow their progression or manage pain?

My husband dropped 2 pills, Simvastatin and Metoprolol 25 mg, and we think our dog may have gotten them. So far, he is acting okay. Should we be worried and is there anything we should do? Thank you for your help, Sue.

My dog, Lillie, has had IBS for 3 years and is currently on metronidazole. She has started vomiting infrequently and regurgitating often each day. She has been prescribed omeprazole for 30 days with little success. She has esophagitis and an ulcer, and a barium swallow showed these issues. Blood studies are normal. The vet wants to do open abdomen biopsies, but we are reluctant. What can we do to help Lillie without resorting to surgery?

My dog, Chico, has a rash on his belly and groin, and a small scab from a recent dog bite on his back. He occasionally urinates on himself when excited and has been hiding in my clothes to sleep. What could be causing the rash and what should I do?

A large lump formed overnight under my dog's belly near the rear. She is biting at it as if it's a flea bite and licking it, causing it to get bigger. What can I do to keep her comfortable before a vet visit tomorrow morning?
