My dog, Xena, has an open laceration on her back that is about 1/2 inch long. I've cleaned it and dressed it, but I'm unsure whether to make a normal vet appointment or take her to the emergency vet. The wound doesn't bleed badly, and it happened about two hours ago. Xena is 2 years old, fixed, and up to date on her shots. Should I wait until Monday for a regular appointment, or should I take her to the emergency vet?

I am worried about my Teacup Maltese, Bean, who had surgery on Monday. Last night, we noticed his post-neutering incision looked slightly open. He had pain medication for the first three days and is 6 months old. Is there anything we should be concerned about, and do we still need to keep the cone on?

Both of my dog's back paws are swollen, and his back legs seem to cause him pain. He cannot support himself on his back legs. He started having problems about 2 days ago, and he doesn't lick the paws or have any recent falls or trauma. Where on the legs does he seem sore, and is there anything else the vet should know about him?

My dog, Linda, a 9-year-old Shitzu mixed with Chihuahua, has a lump on her elbow that I noticed last night. It looks like a cyst and seems to have fluid inside. Should I take her to the vet, and is there anything I can do in the meantime?

My dog, Sassy, has dry, cracked skin on her back legs and is bald from scratching, also behind her ears. She has been licking the coconut oil off before it can help, and she often gets ear infections. What can I do to help her at home until I can get her to the vet?
