My dog Furley, who is around 11 or 12 years old, has had a cough for a couple of weeks. He coughs up phlegm sometimes and has a history of pneumonia. He also has allergies and licks his butt constantly. What can I do to help him without going to the vet?

My toy poodle, Vivvy, vomited her first food followed by a good amount of clear mucus-like bile, possibly with a hint of red. She has calmed down after being cleaned up, but I'm concerned about the possible cause, especially since I applied flea medication (Revolution 15 mg) between her shoulder blades 8 hours ago. What could be causing this and what should I do?
