My German Shepherd has had extreme discharge from only one nostril (the right one) for two months. The discharge is white and very thick. I've had him checked by a vet but they couldn't determine the cause. The discharge has been consistent with no change. What could be causing this and what tests or treatments should I consider?

I have a Yorkiepoo, he is 3 years old. His right eye was red first with some matter in it, and about 3 days later, the left eye began to do the same thing. I bought him some eye rinse, but it only seems to work for a couple of hours and does not seem to be clearing up. What should I do, as I can't afford a vet?
