I have a senior husky with zinc responsive dermatitis. The vet prescribed prednisone and zinc methionone. I have prednisolone from a recently deceased dog. Are prednisone and prednisolone the same for dogs, and can they cause diarrhea or other side effects?

My dogs have developed itching, mainly in the tail area, which has progressed up their sides and now around their necks.
