Hello doc. I have a 4-year-old female Labrador who started having trouble getting up from the floor and crying in pain approximately 3 months ago. She was given ibuprofen by the vet, and while she no longer cries, the issue hasn't fully resolved. Recent tests for Lyme disease and other tick-borne viruses were negative, as were X-rays of her hips and pelvis. She has been on carprofen with little change. The vet suggested another pain medication, steroids, or a referral to a neurologist or orthopedic specialist. We've been trying to rest her, but it's challenging with our energetic 3-month-old male lab. What are your thoughts on what is going on? Do we take the next step with a specialist? MRI?

My 4-month-old border collie, Grixis, ate some Carmex that contains camphor and salicylic acid. He is very healthy and weighs about 25 pounds. Most of the Carmex tube is still intact, so he didn't get much. Should I be concerned, and is there anything I should do?
