My dog, Pinky, has been favoring her right hind leg for a few weeks and is now in pain, shaking due to it. My dog has terrible breath and a dark brown front tooth. What can I do at home to help besides taking her in for a dental cleaning? What brand of dog toothbrush and paste do you recommend? She's a skittish Chihuahua, so I'm afraid to brush her teeth directly.

My 12-year-old dog, Ginger, a border collie/blue heeler mix, has been having difficulty breathing, cannot lay down to sleep or get up to potty, and her back legs seem to be giving out. She had a cough for about two weeks but that has improved. She has been eating and drinking more over the last four days but has lost weight. What could be causing these symptoms and how should she be treated?

I have a 16-year-old 9 lb Chihuahua named Lana with a collapsed trachea. She has been on hydrocodone 4x a day and prednisone 1x a day for over a month, and I'm concerned about the long-term effects of prednisone. The current treatment doesn't seem as effective as before.
