My miniature pinscher had loose bowel movements, was lethargic, had high respiratory rate, and trembled, so I took her to the 24-hour animal hospital. They gave her a Polyflex injection and prescribed Metronidazole tablets. Is it okay that she took the medication with food and didn't chew it? Can the antibiotics make her diarrhea worse? She's had 2 doses of Metronidazole and has had 4-5 watery bowel movements today. How can I get her to drink more water since she doesn't seem to want to?

My 4-year-old male dog had surgery to get fixed on Wednesday. Today, there is significant swelling in the scrotum, which is also red, and he had a little diarrhea tonight. Our regular vet is closed until Monday. Is this level of swelling and redness normal post-surgery, and should we take him to the emergency room, or is it safe to monitor him at home with icing and possibly using a jock strap for support?
